IISJ offers something for everyone. Clubs include Debate, Chess, and of course sports like basketball and cricket. Many of our teams participate in tournaments in Japan and other countries. Athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities have benefits beyond the enjoyment they provide. These activities offer opportunities for students to learn the values of teamwork, individual and group responsibility, physical strength and endurance, competition, diversity, and a sense of culture and community. After-School Clubs provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education.
Depending on the Club, students meet once a week for one hour.
