Welcome to IISJ Middle School

The Middle School is comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. It caters to a systematic imparting of education that is both holistic and individualized. It conforms to the prescribed norms of the CBSE Board and runs strictly in accordance with all its Indian counterparts. The multipronged education system helps in nurturing children which in the long run enables them to become full fledged global citizens.

Middle School Curriculum

The Middle School curriculum is CBSE based and the students are taught English, Mathematics, Hindi, Social Studies, Science, Computer Science, and Japanese.

Hindi is compulsory, but those who are exempted are given a choice of Tamil, French, Nepali and Extra English. Japanese is a required subject for all students and is taught once a week. Indian music, Western music, arts-and-crafts, and physical education are also required subjects. Books are prescribed by the CBSE and the language of instruction is English.

Physical education is deemed an integral part of the IISJ curriculum. Students are encouraged to excel at various sports including soccer, basketball, and other athletic activities. IISJ has the use of local city gyms and expert coaches are employed to teach the students. At the end of every school year, the “Best Sportsperson” award is given to a deserving student.

Intra-school co-curricular activities are another highlight of the school. They are conducted during the year to tap into the students’ special interests and talent.

After-School Program

IISJ also conducts after-school clubs to extend and enrich the creative, cultural, environmental, social and physical development of every student.

  • Drawing club
  • Chess Club

After-school clubs run from 3:55 to 4:55 pm.

Field Trips

IISJ actively supplements its curriculum with regular outings and local hiking tours. In order to better understand their host country, students tour historical monuments, sites of national interest, gardens, and museums. They also go to amusement parks and picnics.

Summer School

Extra coaching is given to students who join late during the academic year or those who need extra help.
